Now the EMOTION 2 is available with new features and a world novelty: The Launch control (LC)! In the range of the safe class A of U-Turn, which the system for automatic flight stabilization (AFS) possess all, the EMOTION 2 is placed in the middle between the good-natured BODYGUARD 3 and the quite sporty INFINITY 3.

The EMOTION 2 is outstanding training suited with all dynamic and high performance reserves – and in particular for Rookies and leisure pilots the wing offers a world novelty: With the Launch control inflating and starting becomes still easier. The newest technical innovation of U-Turn brings a whole set of advantages, both for pilots at the beginning of training and for more experienced pilots, for example at a new, them unknown take off, the assistance by the Launch Control allows safe and stress less start. Therefore the system can be activated simply and deactivated completely so, as the pilot wants to use the system individually. In addition the Launch Control allows the pilot to vary the rising speed of the wing to adjust it to the actual take off requirements.

The system is ingeniously simple: A loop is fixed with a velcrostrap to the front of the A-risers, with which the B-risers can be coupled to the A’s as well. The pressure point increases, and prevents the pilot pulling the A-risers too far downwards in considerably stressed situations. Thus the front collapse of the canopy is nearly impossible in the starting procedure.

Two LC-connectings are prepared, the effect of the Launch control and so the lift-off speed of the wing can be varied, “explains technical designer Ernst Strobl. In a side effect thereby also the topic overshooting moves more into background. „U-Turn-wings have anyway only a very small tendency to overshoot, in special the class A gliders, but with the Launch control and the connection of A and B-risers, caused thereby, this topic moves further into the background.” Strobel is stating. The two loops have a distance of 3 cm, so that the pilot can select, with which intensity the Launch control effects the starting procedure. That means that thereby also the lift-off speed can be varied, since the angle of attack can be varied easily. Thus for example the lift-off speed can be selected smaller at a steep starting slope or with short approach.

Apart from the Launch control the introduction of the PPN system (precision profile nose) is the most remarkable feature of the improved Emotion 2. Instead of the heavy Leading edge mylar the plastic reinforcement of the newest generation is built in. The weight of the wing is reduced by this noticeably. The line diameters could be easily made smaller in the total revision, so that resistances in the flight are likewise easily minimized. In the result all of this ensures around 1-2 km/h increased speed in the trim.

In flight behaves the EMOTION 2 naturally further uncomplicatedly and forgiving. The canopy performs also accelerated extremely well, and in thermal flying the EMOTION 2 gains altitude, which places the wing at the absolute point of its performance class. The EMOTION 2 stands more than ever for the good feeling of safe flight fun. Because the AFS of the newest generation affects all cells and prevents so the very most unpleasant collapses already in the emergence. The EMOTION 2 is available in attractive colors in the weight range from XS (50 – 80kg), S (65 – 90kg), M (80 – 110kg) to L (100 -130kg) all EN-A classified.
